Metal roofing finally arrived, maybe the correct color?

One promise that ended up true . . Roofing was delivered yesterday 1/21/21!

I immediately noticed the color noted on the packing slip is different than the color we ordered. We ordered leaf green after comparing a sample to the existing building back in Nov 2019. The color here . . forest green. We are hopeful it is close enough, but seriously. This supplier has two greens, how does this happen? I did notice on the phase 1 selections sheet from GC (shown on top below), that the roof color just says 'green', however when we were given the metal sample she said it would be for roof and gutters.

Also notice on this packing slip. ORDER DATE: 1/15/21. Really? After GC SWORE it was ordered back in mid-December and the pandemic was slowing it down due to factory delays? Yeah, ok.

Sample sheet online - impossible to tell on a computer screen

These were the two physical samples we were able to bring home to compare back in 2019

It looks like it will end up darker than the existing building. Today we had a site visit from our project manager, Andy. He noticed a few other framing issues we need to resolve, fun. He called back later and said he spoke with the roofer who indicated he would be starting before Wednesday (1/27/21). I see we have snow in the forecast now.  .

Existing gutter vs existing trim

Same existing gutter vs new roofing material for the house
We would love to open a pallet and throw one up on the existing roof to compare but  GC PM said it would be best to wait and let the roofer do it in case something got damaged. He is probably right.

Roofing delivery tomorrow 1/21!

I don't count on anything the builder tells me at this point BUT we've been told the metal roof material will be here tomorrow. The roofer had told the GC they will be here Friday or Monday to install. I hope this timeline is correct as the rain is moving back in the end of next week. We are on 40 days of no activity (besides roof paper).

Drying out well with all the dry weather

Tarping the roof

The story from the builder is still that they don't have a delivery date for the metal roofing yet. The order was supposed to have been placed on 12/14 and they claim the manufacturer hasn't provided a delivery date. I ended up finding contact info for the manufacturer and emailed asking about lead times. All they said was that some product lines do take longer to produce. Waiting to see if I can get a status on our specific order based on delivery address.
Now the plan is to tarp the roof so we can get the dry in finally started. Roofer is supposed to be out this weekend . . too bad this should have been done back in September when the framers left the project wide open for weeks at a time.
Today the new project manager came out here today (3rd one we've had since starting). He noted 'not much progress' since his last visit 2 weeks ago. He made a notes on a few framing issues in the kids bedrooms and said he will light as many fires as possible to help us get this back on track.
Good news is our custom front door is ready for pickup . . however now we are not even ready for it.

Kind of crazy to look back and see that we picked out this door over 1 year ago! Jan 2nd 2020

Still waiting on metal

Roof paper went on 12/18. Now the builder says there is a delay from the factory on the roof metal, but yet cannot provide a delivery date. They cannot seem to stick to a schedule. I get that covid is causing delays, but they should be able to adjust that schedule and plan for delays. Everything has been open ended and non-committal.

Here are some pictures taken this week after the dry days turned to rain. The inside was drying really well with the fans, but then the rain and drips started. Now we are back to sweeping out water a few times a day. I did have ProServ visit on Wednesday to put together a proposal on mold mitigation.

This water is not coming in from the window

Cedar deck complete, tiled porch . . still in progress

The back deck outside the 12' slider is only 4' deep to accomodate county code. We hope to add to it later when budget allows and/o...
