Some framing progress

Windows were delivered on Monday the 5th (double slider on back order, coming the 12th). The framing crew brought a 4th guy Thursday this week. They were able to get the large trusses set. Earlier in the week they install the 5 small front windows, built the stair landings and installed the porch posts and beams. Supposed to get rain tonight, still no sheeting or roof.

Xander excited to be able to take the stairs up to his room, not quite yet though!

Trusses sat up there since 9/21, but 10/8 were set into place FINALLY

10/8 - Cloudy, but dry day. Supposed to rain tonight and over the weekend :(

Where did the framers go??

The trusses were delivered almost 2 weeks ago on Monday the 21st. We saw the framers working on the 22nd. The 23rd the rain moved in and they picked up their tool trailer and left. I've been trying to get an update from our project manager since then (who says he is trying to reach the framer/sub). The construction manager called me yesterday after I sent and email concerned about this delay. He said it likely due to weather. REALLY!? It's been sunny for the past 5-6 days! We did have rain the 23rd-26th, and dealt with the water on our own after the builder didn't return calls/text. There is no reason for no progress this week. Very frustrating to not have a roof on yet.

Dealing with water for a few days while Mike was gone. Xander is great helping me:

Mike came home from a work trip and we were able to get it dry on Sunday 27th:

Cabinet colors

We decided to go with the HAVANA stain on Rustic alder. I like how it pulls the warmer tone out of the floor. The grey tone in the other cabinet we were consider seems more popular . .
I guess we are against the grain people  ;)

This is very similar to our layout and the colors we are going for.
Our baseboard trims will match the cabinets

Truss day!

September 21, 2020 - Trusses today.  6 days later than originally planned.

Next - woodstove venting 9/30, then roof and windows! Lets hope the heavy rains hold off a but longer...we've already had 2 good storms pour down on us before roofing.

Walls up!

Today 9/7 the framers erected the first walls!
Aleesa looking out back at the nook area

Cedar deck complete, tiled porch . . still in progress

The back deck outside the 12' slider is only 4' deep to accomodate county code. We hope to add to it later when budget allows and/o...
