Floor is on!

Yesterday the framers came in and did the floor. The kids think it's a giant playground.

We also had a visit from the GC project manager. Sounds like trusses are scheduled for 9/17.

Lumber package and framing

We got the lumber package on Wednesday 8/19

Framers came by on the 20th to scope it out and then started working today 8/21. A heavy rain storm blew in about 1pm that had them stop for the day. I went outside to find Mike soaking wet, trying to redirect the water! Hopefully we don't have many of these until after the roof is on. The framer SAYS the builder hadn't ordered the trusses yet . . . not sure why, but it sounds like another delay. .

Delivery day!

So much rain!

Backfill!

Today was a big day! We had the back fill done which changes the feel around the house. It looks so good! TD Alskog did a great job leveling this out perfectly!

We were supposed to have the lumber package this week, but the builder missed a step and didn't get the take off package to the lumber company . . soooo now it's delayed until next week. Good news is that once we have lumber the framer can start right away. *finger crossed* we can make up some lost time and get a roof on this thing before the weather turns!

This is from the back corner of the cleared area.
I cannot believe how much back yard space we have back here!
This back wall is where we will have a 12' double slider out to a porch!

Roof Drains and fun in the dirt!

The kids have enjoyed playing in the raw dirt while we clear out the concrete in the crawl space the foundation sub left behind. This is their 'mine'.

Here are the roof drains we installed. Our builder leaves this part up to the home owner to DIY, or hire out. We decided to DIY to save costs. I'd really like to see how the pros level out a roof drain system! It was tricky making sure it drains correctly. The kids had fun pouring water in one end, and waiting for it at the end of the line.

Cabinet color - so hard to make a final decision!

Picking cabinet color has been the hardest for me. I think it's because it is one of the areas we upgraded and don't plan to switch out or change on our own so I want to get it right.
I came across this picture on Houzz this weekend. I think this is the one. Of course it's considered an additional upgrade because it's a glaze vs a stain . .

Other colors we were considering:
Tundra
Kitchen cabinet - Kemper cabinets, Larsen Rustic Alder, Tundra stain, designed by Angela Raines at Kitchen Sales Gallery s… | Kitchen sale, Kitchen, Kitchen remodel

Havana
Kemper Larsen, Rustic Alder in Havana stain. Canterbury Cambria tops Kemper cabinets Larsen, Rust… | Kitchen and bath showroom, Kitchen sale, Kitchen and bath

Here is the flooring:

Cedar deck complete, tiled porch . . still in progress

The back deck outside the 12' slider is only 4' deep to accomodate county code. We hope to add to it later when budget allows and/o...
